Focus: To encourage clubs to have local students participate in the Student Art Scholarship program of GFWC Georgia and recognize students’ artistic expression and achievements. There is no national level contest.

GFWC Georgia State Guidelines
Focus: To encourage clubs to have local students participate in the Student Art Scholarship program of GFWC Georgia and recognize students’ artistic expression and achievements. There is no national level contest.
Competition Rules and Guidelines
- Students must be sponsored by a club that is in good standing with GFWC Georgia.
- Sponsoring clubs must contribute at least $10.00 to the Student Art Award Fund.
- A student may submit one entry in any medium he/she chooses.
- Any high school graduating senior may submit work whether or not he/she has had lessons in art.
- All entries must be original. No copies of other works will be considered.
- There is no theme. The criteria for judging will be composition, creativity, complexity, use of materials and use of technique.
- The student’s work, if in two-dimensional form, must be matted in white or off-white, unless it is painted on canvas. No glass, plastic, or frames are allowed.
- Specifications: Entries may be any size suitable to be carried, but no larger than 30” x 30” including the matting (two dimensional) or 24” x 24” area (three dimensional, such as, sculpture, pottery, glass or other structure art.)
- No computer-driven or digital generated art will be allowed.
- A club may sponsor more than one student and is responsible for getting the entries to the District Arts Chairman.
- Each district will hold a District Student Art Competition. The District Art chairman will determine time, location and judges.
- Entries not coming directly from district competitions will not be qualified for state judging. The student/club must compete at the District level.
- Entry forms must be filled out in duplicate. One is to be attached to the work and the second is to be mailed to the District Arts chairman by February 1, 2017 and 2018. These forms are available in the yearbook or may be obtained from the state office.
- An arrow must be on the back of the work to indicate the top.
- There will be a maximum of four (4) winners from each district to qualify for state competition.
- District Art chairmen are responsible for sending entry forms for all winning entries to the Arts Chairman by April 1, 2017 and 2018. The same piece(s) of work must be taken to and from State Competition by the sponsoring club.

GFWC Georgia State Guidelines
- The State Competition will be held at the GFWC Georgia Annual Convention and winners will be announced at this time. It is the responsibility of the sponsoring club to notify the winning students.
- Qualified judges will be obtained by the State Arts Contests chairman and their decisions are final.
- Every precaution will be taken to care for the entries submitted, however, GFWC Georgia cannot be held responsible for damage to or loss of entries.
- Four (4) awards and citations will be presented to four (4) winners in the competition. The four awards (up to $500) will be presented at the State Convention.
- The awards and citations will be presented to the sponsoring club.
- It is the responsibility of the sponsoring club to present the winners with their awards in a timely manner.
- Entries will be disqualified if all rules are not followed.
- Citations will be given at State Convention to the clubs sponsoring the winners of the Student Art Competition.
